Ordering Wedding Invitations

Wedding (and other invitations) File Formats

What are traditional invitation colors?

There are three basic colors that fall into this category: white (bright white), wedding white (ivory or cream colored), and ecru (beige). It is important to read the description of the invitation you're considering. Sometimes the wedding white is referred to as traditional white.

When should wedding invitations be ordered?
Invitations should be ordered when all of the details of the ceremony and reception have been confirmed. You will need to know the following information before ordering: date, time and place of your service and reception, as well as an accurate guest list count. Wedding invitations should be ordered at least three months before the wedding.

How soon can I expect to receive my invitations once I have placed my order?
You need to allow 3 to 5 days for the printing of your invitation ensemble. You will also need to allow time for shipping. Orders are shipped UPS ground and can take up to 5 days. If you're in a hurry, you might consider 3 day select, 2nd Day Air or Next Day delivery.

When should the wedding invitations be mailed out?
You should mail your invitations about six to eight weeks prior to the ceremony. If you are inviting a lot of guests from out of state, you should allow 8 weeks, so travel arrangements can be made well in advance.

What are Respond Folders and how are they used?

Respond cards are used to give you an accurate count of guests attending the reception. If different entrees are being offered, the choices can be listed on the card. If you can't fit all of the options on the form, contact me by email or phone before placing your order.

You will need to decide who will be receiving the cards once they are mailed. Don't forget that you need to put a stamp on the respond card envelope. Another option is a respond postcard.

What can I do to avoid making mistakes?
Proof read and re-read all your order info at lease 2-3 times. Have someone else proofread after you do. Most errors made will occur in info that is very familiar to you, such as names of people and places, addresses, phone numbers, and the like. Most of what you submit will go directly from your computer to automated typesetting and printing equipment therefore it is important to submit info that is correct. Of course, if we or our suppliers do see an obvious error we will correct it, but this is not guaranteed.

If I find a mistake after I’ve submitted my order, what should I do?
Contact us immediately! Many orders go directly from your computer to the pressroom. We will make every effort to intercept your order so it can be corrected.

If I don't order my inner envelopes lined, does that mean I only receive one size of envelope?
No. You receive both an inner and an outer envelope with the invitation part of your order. The choices of lining, and printing on the outer envelope are options.
